On a hot summer day, a man walks up to a construction site and asks the first

construction worker he sees; what are you building? The construction worker

points at a pile of bricks and mortar and replies: the exterior wall. The man continues walking and goes up to a 2nd construction worker and asks; what are you building? The construction worker points at a stack of wood and answers the truss that supports the roof. The man continues walking and goes up to a 3rd construction worker and asks; what are you building? The construction worker smiles and replies: The house of God.

Every individual needs to discover their Life’s meaning if they wish to live a happy

and fulfilled life. This is usually achieved through an introspection process. Once an

individual realizes what their life’s meaning is, it will completely alter their perspective and priorities and enable them to architect

their life accordingly.

Let’s reflect back on that story for a minute:

All 3 construction workers worked at the same construction site and performed

construction related tasks. The first 2 construction workers viewed their work as a

job, While the third construction worker viewed his work as his life’s purpose.

the sense of fulfillment and satisfaction the 3rd construction worker derived from

his job is very different from that of the first 2 construction workers, as they were

simply performing a service for a pay-check.

In addition, based on his response and attitude, we can determine that aside from

enjoying his job, he was also a man of faith, which was certainly a part of his life’s

meaning which made all the difference with respect to his passion, perseverance,

and the way he executed his job every day.

As the adage goes: “If you love what you do, you’ll never work a day in your life.”
