From Thoughts to Destiny

(Part 1)

It’s not often that religious leaders from different faiths, transformational leaders from different cultures, philosophers, and politicians agree on the same thing.

So what do Budha, Ghandi, Emerson and Margaret Thatcher agree on and have in common? They all used the “Thoughts to Destiny” methodology to achieve their success and preach its power.

Let’s take a look at it:

Watch your thoughts, as they become your words; Watch your words, as they become your actions; Watch your actions, as they become your habits; Watch your habits, as they become your character; Watch your character, for it becomes your destiny.

I personally follow it and can attest to its effectiveness and power.

For the purpose of explaining the process with greater clarity, I’d like to add “Feelings” in between thoughts and words. Since our thoughts generate feelings, which as a result start a whole chain reaction.

Q: If you could make a single change in the sequence where would you make it?

A: Our Thoughts.

Which means that if we could control our thoughts, we could actually change the end result; our destiny.

You’re probably wondering: is that even possible?

The short answer: it is possible to control our thoughts. While we can’t control much of the actual content within a given thought, we can control which thoughts we choose to entertain and which ones we choose to dismiss.

By being mindful, we are able to recognize that certain thoughts trigger negative feelings while others trigger positive ones. We can then learn to swap the former for the latter when they pop into our mind. This will in-turn start a positive chain reaction and determine; what we say, how we act, which habits we form, and which new character traits we adopt in order to reach our desired destiny.

I know it's hard to believe that by simply changing our thoughts we can actually change our destiny. However, this methodology has withstood the test of time and had been practiced, confirmed and echoed through countless respectable and influential key figures over thousands of years, so you may want to give it the benefit of the doubt.

In the following blog: “Thought Control” I will show you how to practice controlling your thoughts so you can alter your life’s trajectory.
