Did you know that April is recognized as National Stress Awareness Month, September is National Suicide Prevention & Awareness Month and October is Depression and Mental Health Awareness Month?
The biggest pandemic threatening our world today is not Covid 19 or any other mutation of the virus, it’s the lack of meaning and purpose so many of our teenagers and young adults are facing in their daily lives.
We are living in an era of constant exposure to carefully choreographed and staged images and videos of so called; “endless happiness”. The never ending flaunting of grandiose lifestyles where everyone always seems so happy and fulfilled cause the naive onlooker to feel as if they are a failure and their own life is meaningless.
This realization is due to: A) the fact that they didn’t achieve what their friends seemingly have, and B) that they have no defined plan or an inkling as to how to even go about achieving such a goal.
Add to that the constant bombardment of news media with their 24/7 coverage of natural disasters, multiple war fronts around the world, and top it all off with the fact that Chat GPT and other forms of AI are threatening to take away so many future jobs. Is it really a wonder why so many teenagers and young adults suffer from stress and anxiety and turn to alcohol, drugs or both to escape this doom perceived reality?
The IOYL Foundation was created to combat this pandemic and our mission is: To help teenagers and young adults realize their individual passions, talents & abilities, and thereby find and pursue their life’s meaning.
We are getting ready to launch in Spring, 2024.
If you would like to support this cause monetarily or through active involvement please connect with me and I will be happy to share with you all the exciting initiatives we have in store.
Together, we can really make a difference.
Let's change lives!
